We’re Kaine and Tash Austin, passionate about helping people create the extra space they need. With years of experience and a love for supporting first-time business owners and small businesses, we provide modern, insulated portable cabins that are warm, dry, and ready to use. At Extra Spaces, we take pride in the quality of our cabins and the service we provide, offering a professional, convenient experience that makes it easy for you to focus on your work, your home, or your projects — while we take care of your Extra Space.

Based just outside Palmerston North, we deliver our modern, insulated cabins across Manawatu, Horowhenua, Rangitikei, and Whanganui. As a family-owned business, we make it easy to hire a cabin for a home office, small business, studio, or extra space — from enquiry to delivery, the process is simple and stress-free

Our cabins

 Our cabins are modern, durable, and designed for comfort, making them perfect for home offices, small businesses, studios, extra bedrooms, or storage. Key features include:

  • Double-glazed windows with tinted glass for privacy and energy efficiency
     
  • Fully insulated walls, ceiling, and underfloor to keep your cabin warm and dry
     
  • Steel-framed construction for strength and durability
     
  • Private and secure
     
  • Easy to heat, ready to use in any season
     

Stylish interiors with practical finishes:

  • Choice of carpet or vinyl flooring
     
  • Thermally backed curtains for added insulation
     
  • LED lighting for energy-efficient brightness
     
  • Three double power points, including one USB.

How it works

Renting a cabin from Extra Spaces is simple, transparent, and stress-free:

  1. Get in touch – let us know when you need a cabin and the delivery address (this is the most important detail).
     
  2. Site discussion – we’ll confirm the best placement for your cabin and any delivery requirements; a site visit is arranged if needed.
     
  3. Secure your cabin – to confirm your booking, we require two weeks’ rent in advance plus the delivery fee. There is no bond and no hidden fees.
     
  4. Contract and payment – straightforward and transparent.
     
  5. Delivery – we bring your cabin to your site, fully set up and ready to use.
     
  6. Enjoy your Extra Space – start working, living, or storing immediately!
